Will is originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan where he began his career in theatre at the tender age of 4. He worked with Opera Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, and Circle Theatre GR onstage and off until he graduated high school. Will received his BFA in Hair and Makeup design from The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University in 2017. While in school in St. Louis, Will’s designs were frequently seen from the drag stages of the Grove to area high school productions. Will was fortunate enough to work with The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Opera Theatre Saint Louis, The MUNY, STAGES St. Louis, Winter Opera St. Louis, Max and Louie Productions, and Insight Theatre. It was also in St. Louis that Will met Krystal Balleza, his now creative partner. Together they run The Wig Associates, a freelance design and wig rental business serving regional and educational theaters in the U.S. and online platforms. After graduating, Will Moved to New York City to take a position in the hair department of the Phantom of the Opera (Broadway). Will has also served as the hair and makeup supervisor for King Kong (Broadway), Plaza Suite (Boston/Broadway),and Soft Power (The Public). In addition to running shows, Will also works as a studio assistant for Tom Watson (Broadway Wig Designer), coordinating new builds and styling for shows such as Wicked (Broadway/Munchkinland Tour), My Fair Lady (Broadway/Tour), The Minutes (Broadway), The Rose Tattoo (Broadway), The Great Society (Broadway), Rock of Ages (Off Broadway), Fiddler on the Roof (Broadway/Off Broadway), Cambodian Rock Band (Off Broadway), and The Vagrant Trilogy (The Public). Originally from the Rio Grande Valley in southern Texas, the theatre bug bit Krystal when her high school drama teacher suggested that she might enter the UIL Theatre competition for hair and makeup. Krystal created award winning re-designs of the iconic theatrical hair and makeups of CATS, Tartuffe, and The Hobbit. Krystal caught the attention of the beloved Conservatory of Theatre Arts dean, Peter Sargent, who personally helped her pave a path to college theatre. She graduated in 2019 with her BFA in Hair and Makeup Design with a minor in Psychology. While in St. Louis, Krystal met Will Vicari, her now creative partner, together they have worked for The Muny, STAGES St. Louis, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, and Winter Opera St. Louis. Krystals designs were also seen on the Variety Children’s Theater stage for their productions of The Little Mermaid and The Wizard of Oz. Will and Krystal co-own a freelance design and wig rental business based in New Jersey. Krystal moved to New York City in the fall of 2019, returning to St. Louis only to finish her final collegiate design. Since moving to New York, Krystal has been the Hair and Makeup Supervisor for Fabulation (The Signature Theater), Toni Stone (Roundabout), High Button Shoes (City Center Encores), and Slave Play (Broadway). She has also been the assistant hair supervisor for The Phantom of The Opera (Broadway). When Krystal is not working on a show full time, she works as a freelance makeup artist and custom wig maker for theatre and film.
